The Library @ JHS 226
Welcome back to the library! The newly reopened library at JHS 226 is a warm, welcoming space dedicated to students and their learning and reading needs. The library is used for independent reading, collaboration, research, meetings and as a calm, meditative space.
The library supports classroom teachers by sharing resources, hosting classes and teaching informational literacy.
Library Mission Statement:
Collaborate with teachers and staff in support of our school curriculum
Enable students to access and analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources.
Create a lifelong love of reading and learning by providing an inviting and welcoming environment.
Library Hours:
Monday- Friday 8:10 am- 2:30 pm
Open Access periods 4-6, with lunch pass
Circulation Policy:
Students may check out up to 5 books every two weeks. Exceptions can be made and students should see Mrs. Vikos for extensions or extended borrowing privileges. Overdue notices are sent every two weeks, there are no late fees. However, students and guardians are responsible for the cost of a lost or damaged library book.
